Real-time quantitative PCR is recognized industry wide as a latest technology innovation. Marshfield Food Safety developed a new polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based pathogen assay for the food industry. PCR technology allows Marshfield’s Food Safety program to provide unparalleled rapid, accurate and sensitive assays for pathogenic bacteria. Application of these assays has also been shown to be useful for cross-functional application for diagnosis of organisms in food, animal and human diagnostics.
Collaboration on New Assay Development
Marshfield Food Safety collaborates with technology companies and members of industry to develop PCR based assays for specific organisms, both pathogenic and spoilage. Tests are designed to produce the most sensitive and organism specific results for the identified food matrix.
